Stacy's passion for working with children with special needs began as a high school student when she volunteered at a summer camp for children with special needs. At that time, she knew she would pursue a career in working with children.
Stacy is a Certified Speech and Language Pathologist and Qualified Orofacial Myologist, with more than 13 years of experience working with children and their families. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from UCLA, and then earned her Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from CSUN, Northridge. Her experience includes working with children ages 15 months through adults, in both the private sector and public/private school settings. Working across multiple settings has provided her with valuable experience for how best to treat each individual patient. Stacy believes the best approach is to work collaboratively with the child, family, pediatricians, teachers, principals, and other specialists.
In addition to individual therapy sessions for speech and language, Stacy Varon Speech Pathology also provides evaluations and therapy for Orofacial Myofunctional disorders. Stacy provides a full range of services for children and adults with speech, language, and orofacial myofunctional disorders, including: small social groups for students to learn and practice pragmatic language skills, one-on-one therapy, screenings, consultations, evaluations, and special programs to encourage collaboration with schools, physicians, and other related service providers. Carryover of speech, language and myofunctional skills to their natural environment and daily routine is reinforced by weekly home assignments.
Stacy is passionate about working with children and their families to improve speech and language development and believes language is the gateway to learning, growth, and developing confidence.
